I am Grateful

By Mudiame,

No! It’s not happening today. What time is it? I can’t be tried; I have got more work to do.
I started today with dreams and aspirations which I hoped to turn to my realities by the end of the day. But at this point I question my ability to finish the task at hand. Yes, I started my day with plans; taking stock now, it is obvious that my quest to please people took more of my time than actually pursuing my dreams. To say the truth, I am continuously unhappy about this. So much is expected of me, that many times, I just want to scream – I need my time! A society that expects so much from a girl child at home compounds my challenge. And when you have a temperament like mine…
I know I am not alone, as many people are daily faced with this scenario; but the bitter truth is you can change your yesterday’s story starting today. How can I, when I question my sanity at times due to the pressure all around me? You can start by being grateful.  Yes Grateful, you heard me right. At least, gratitude can constantly assure you of your sanity, as it consciously help you consider your achievements amidst your little failure (that your lack of gratitude has magnified).
To consciously keep track of all the things you are grateful for, I would suggest keeping a gratitude journal. Do this by reflecting on your day, and write down what you are grateful for. It can be as little as the child that smiled at you, or as big as you hitting a jack pot. Doing this, would give you something to lift you up from self-pity, thus giving you strength to forge ahead to achieve your dreams.
For me today, I choose to be thankful for a sound mind, life and the giver of life. Most of all I am thankful that I am able to share these words with you, so that together we can be thankful.

Happy thanks giving people.

Please share in the comment box, what you are thankful for.
